Pas de joueurs du CSKA pour le ballon d'or

Valery Gazzayev has hit out at France Football for omitting his CSKA Moscow players in their list of candidates for European Player of the Year.

The respected French magazine recently released their list of stars contending for the award, although a number of CSKA stars were left out - including Brazilian Daniel Carvalho.

Gazzayev believes his Uefa Cup winners should have had at least seven players on the short list with the likes of Lyon's Gregory Coupet and ex-PSV winger Park Ji-sung making the top 50.

"I'm surprised to say the least, by the decision of such a respected publication as France Football to leave out all the CSKA players," said Gazzayev to Sovietsky Sport.

"We have had a very respected season in Europe this year, we won the Uefa Cup and not to see the outstanding displays of Carvalho, in my opinion, was simply impossible.

"I'm sure there are at least six or seven players from our team that deserved to make the list.

"They are at least as worthy of being nominated as guys like Gregory Coupet, Park Ji-sung and Mauro Camoranesi."

Moi je trouve qu'il devrait être content, ça montre que son équipe est un collectif et ça montre son talent d'entraineur de gagner une coupe UEFA sans bons joueurs.
